Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, breastfeeding, children under 5 years of age, acute nephritis, fructose intolerance, phenylketonuria.

Mode of application

Locally. Keep in mouth until completely absorbed, without chewing. — Adults and adolescents over 15 years of age: 6 tablets per day at intervals of 2 hours. — Children from 10 to 15 years: 4 tablets per day with an interval of 3 hours. — Children from 5 to 10 years: 3 tablets per day with an interval of 4 hours. Duration of therapy is 5-7 days.

Side effect

Allergic reactions are possible. If side effects not described in these instructions occur, you should stop taking the drug and inform your doctor.

Overdose

To date, no cases of overdose have been registered.

Interaction

Taking salvia preparations may interfere with the effects of medications that act through GABA receptors (eg, barbiturates, benzodiazepines). Concomitant use with these drugs is not recommended. Sage preparations can interact with hypoglycemic and anticonvulsants, and enhance the sedative effect of other drugs and alcohol. This medicine may affect the absorption of iron and other minerals.

Sage is an antiseptic herbal remedy for complex treatment of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract (tonsillitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis) and oral cavity (stomatitis, gingivitis) for adults and children over 5 years old in various forms of release. Sage has an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and expectorant effect due to its complex composition:

Dry sage extract.
Sage essential oil.

Has astringent properties. Lozenges do not contain sugar, so they can be recommended for people who have limited sugar intake.

Directions for use and doses

Locally. Keep in mouth until completely absorbed, without chewing.

Adults and adolescents over 15 years of age: 6 tablets per day, 2 hours apart.

Children from 10 to 15 years: 4 tablets per day with an interval of 3 hours.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Safety of use during pregnancy and lactation has not been established. Due to the lack of sufficient data, use during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated. Thujone, a component of sage leaves, may have an adverse effect on pregnancy.

Precautionary measures

It is not recommended to use the drug for more than 1 week. Due to the sorbitol content, the drug should not be taken by patients with congenital fructose intolerance. Due to the sorbitol content, when taking more than 9 tablets per day, it may have a mild laxative effect. Due to the aspartame content, the drug should not be taken by patients with phenylketonuria. If symptoms persist or worsen while using the drug, you should stop using the drug and consult a doctor.

Interaction with other drugs

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug. With caution: Due to the content of ascorbic acid, prescribe with caution in the following conditions: hyperoxaluria, urolithiasis, renal failure, hemochromatosis, thalassemia, polycythemia, leukemia, sideroblastic anemia, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, sickle cell anemia, progressive malignant diseases, increased blood clotting, thrombosis, tendency to thrombosis, thrombophlebitis, diabetes mellitus and conditions accompanied by high blood sugar.

Overdose

An overdose when ingesting more than 15 g of sage leaves can be manifested by a feeling of heat, the development of tachycardia, dizziness and epileptic convulsions. If symptoms of overdose occur, stop using the drug and consult a doctor. Treatment is symptomatic.

Side effect

Allergic reactions are possible. Due to the content of ascorbic acid, the development of gastrointestinal disorders (heartburn, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting), frequent urination (pollakiuria), damage to the glomerular apparatus of the kidneys, crystalluria, formation of urate and/or oxalate stones in the kidneys and urinary tract, allergic reactions is possible. (skin rash, skin hyperemia), thrombocytosis, hyperprothrombinemia, hyperglycemia, glycosuria. If any adverse reactions occur, including those not listed in this instruction, you should stop using the drug and consult a doctor.
